I recently installed '32-bit Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC) with Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio' on my computer (Windows 7, 64bit). Everything seems fine and I can develop and run my application in Visual Studio 2010 and IIS 7.
Now, when I deploy my application to the Server, it raises error:
Download Odac 11.2 1
I didn't find any good reference on this so though of documenting the steps that worked for me Step 1: Go to 64-bit Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC) Downloads page and download 64-bit ODAC 11.2 Release 5 (18.104.22.168.20) Xcopy for Windows x64. Once Oracle Client has been installed on appropriate computers, install the proper version of Oracle.NET Data Access Components (ODAC), containing Oracle Development Tools (ODT), on all computers hosting Ultimus BPM Server, Ultimus BPM Studio (Client and Server). Hi, I am trying to download 64 bit ODAC-Client for Oracle 11g database. (odac-Oracle Data Access Client). On oracle site, mostly 32 bit clients are available. But not getting any 64 bit client. I had oracle 22.214.171.124 x32 that have odac with universal installer. After installing odac I could see oracle provider in Visual Studio 2012 Connect to Database window. Now with oracle 126.96.36.199 x64 a.
Download Odac 11.2
Exception: System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleCommand' threw an exception. ---> Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleException: The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle client
Obviously I need to install ODAC on the server, too. My server is:
- Windows 2003 32 bit R2 (I know, I know!)
- IIS 6
So. I downloaded the same installation from Oracle website (ODAC 11.2 Release 5 and Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio [188.8.131.52.20]) and installed it on the server. But still getting the same error.
PS: When I was installing, I chose Oracle Data Access Component for Oracle Client 184.108.40.206.20 in Oracle Universal Installer. hmmmm. Should I choose 'Oracle Server' instead?TohidTohid
The first option (Oracle Data Access Component for Oracle Client 220.127.116.11.20) worked for me.TohidTohid
